Martin Playne is a writer and self-publisher. He is author of this blog site. He wants his blogsite to encourage discussion on Australian history, particularly that where genealogical techniques are used to flesh out early families. Occasionally, he will release reviews of books he has read. Mostly however, he will use this site for discussion of techniques on writing and publishing non-fiction.

View his website for more details on his publications (www.martinplayne.com.au)

He is interested on what is the best approach to recording family history in a readable and enjoyable form.

He is currently writing a new book on the lives and families of the Great Will Forgers of the 1840s. This book covers the fen country of England, London and the west of England, and then moves to Norfolk Island, Tasmania and ends up in mainland Australia. The trials and tribulations of the families associated with the criminals is explored. He expects to release in 2017.

  1. Do you still have copies of your book on the Pastoral Settlement on the Campaspe Plains for sale ?
Yes, Clare, it is available from the Royal Historical Society of Victoria bookshop in the city, or on line from BookPOD, or directly from me. See my website – http://www.martinplayne.com.au for an order form and price details. If you live in the Melbourne Bayside area you may prefer to pick a copy up from me and save on postage. I have recently released an e-book version. That is available from Apple iTunes, Amazon Kindle or from KoboBooks.
